The Levin Brass Band will be heard again this Xmas on the usual carolling round. It is the band's inten- 1 tion to devote £10 of the proceeds to ' the local I!pd Cross Funds if the sup- 1 port accorded them by 'the towns- 1 people enables them to do so. They ' have also decided to do most of the ■ round on Sunday, so that their visit j may bo more appreciated than if they j came as usual in the middle of the | night or early hours of the morning | when some people would be just going to bed. The lion, treasurer to Levin Patriotic Society has received from Mr D. S. /Mackenzie a subscription of £1 towards the Belgian Children's Christ- j mas Fund. In a covering letter, Mr . Mackenzie says his subscription is in response to the appeal circulated in ' Wednesday's Chronicle.
