Eggs are scarce and price remains firm. Honey is 6low of sale. Poultry is in exceedingly good demand and realising fancy prices. Vegetables:—Choice cabbage .and cauliflower show an improved; demand and satisfactory prices are now being realised. Large quantities of lettuce have been coming in and prices are much lower. Carrots, parsnips and white turnips are in short supply and bring high prices. Spring onions, leeks and beetroot meet with ready sale. Rhubarb is plentiful and the demand good. Choice Nfclson green peas are keenly bought up but inferior lines are slow of sale. Fruit: —Strawberries, gooseberries and passions arei arriving in small parcels and cause keen competition.
