"CLEANING UP."

(To the Editor.) Sir,—lt seems to me the promoters of the Clean-up and Paint-up Society are getting a bit mixed and irritable. They should try to keep cool and liecp their hair on. They take umbrage at Mr Fosella for not interpreting their proposed scheme correctly. No sersibie person could interpret any different to Mr Fosella. They liavo failed to offer the public any tangible explanation. The discord is in a nutshell. Mr Fosella's first shot knocked a hole in their pet scheme, and now they are not in a fit condition to stand the thrust and pricks of Mr Fosella, "Lone Widder," and "Sandy McNab" gang. They are now squirming and wriggling for a dug-out to hide in. There vision must be very defective, if they cannot see that they are the actors who are turning somersault®. Do they think the reading public are a a lot of numbskulls and canna comprehend that Sandy's got, his teeth in them, and got a good hold, and there is no fear -of them kickiig him until he lets go. — I am. etc, THOMAS WALKER.
