At Sir Roger Casement's triiai, McCarthy, a farmer at Ournaghaine, who discovered Casement's boat, explained why he was on the shore at two in the morning. He had gone to a holy well to say .a few prayers on Good Friday morning. He admitted he had never prayed their before. Sergeant Hearn, in reply to counsel, said that owing to the great importation of arms in the North of Irelandi tho people of the South armed themselves openly—partly against Ulster, and partly against conscription in> the South. He read, documents appealing to prisoners in Litniberg camp to jom -the Irish brigade. The prosecution has closed.
