It is stated that there will be ten more speakers. The second reading ami ""Committee stage will be taken as soon as possible. It is probable that this stage will occupy several diays. It is understood the Government will meet members in a conciliatory spirit regarding defoateaMe clauses. One of these rela.t«s to date of marriage ot married men to be classed with singles. The general opinion favours putting the date forward, a I few months from the date of the outbreak of the war. It ie almost certain six or eight months' grace will be allowed. This, it is thought, will provide for practically all marriages arranged before the war.
