After some little discussion, the matter lapsed, the motion not being seconded. It was pointed out that the matter had been before the full commit tee—complete arrangements had been made for tiie art union, tickets being distributed:, etc. Several speakers agreed that it would be unwise to allow children to sell tickets, and a motion was carried unanimously to the effect that no one under FTie age of 21 years be allowed lo dispose bi art union tickets. At the last meeting of the Otaki Patriotic Society, a lengtTilv discussion ensued on a proposal to send monthly supplies of comforts to soldier boys at the front—a suggestion bv Mrs McHardy, who generously offered to donote SO endi month for the purpose. 12ventually Mr C.
