(Front our Resident Representative.) The public school broke up to-day. The school will open again on Tuesday, February Ist, 1910. The total proceeds of the sejiool concert were £23 odd. Ol course thore are expenses to come out or this, but the result is not bad considering the many other claims that have recently been made upon the purse of the public Half of the amount will bo sent To the patriotic fund.
DRtJIDISM. The Shannon Lodge ol Druids held their usual meeting in the lodge-room on Thursday evening. The chief business was the consideration of the bal-ance-sheet for the past Jialf year. The sick and funeral fund showed a balance to the credit of £ ( JOU 4s 9d. ' The receipts of the management fund were £129 lu's with a. credit balance ot £11 bs lOdi. . The receipts of the insurance fund were £38 7s sd. and thore was a debit balance of £4 15s. The benevolent fund showed a bal- , ,'i.ncc to credit of £10 8s Bd, and there was £44 4s to* debit of the Jiall account, while tho land, building and hall furniture were valued at £705 14s. A.D. Bro. Orowbhor presided at the mooting. Tho balance-sheet and auditor's .report were received and adopted. Xotice of motion for provision for increasing the benevolent fund was given A vofe of (appreciation was passed to, the secretary Bro. Hillier, for his excellent balance-sheet, and also to Bro. Gardiner who had assisted him in tho work. The quarterly returns showed tbta there were 81 members goodi on tho books.
