London, Dec. 15. At a meeting ol the iNew Zealand War Contingent Association the Jion. T. (chairman) btated that L'2V,6UO had been subscribed to tlie Association (including the New Zealand (Shipping Company's gift of £1000 and tho Shaw Saville Company's £500, just received). The Hon. Air Maokenz': stated that 3000 New Zealand wounded uo.w were in Great Jiritaiu, a.nct 2j had died. It was hoped that a lnouument would be erected at Waltou-on-Thumes, to their memory. IVo hundred beds wei'e being added to the hospital at Walton, which was an unyualiiiedl success. When the King and Queen visited it they expressed the utmost gratification at the arrangements. Prince Louis of Battenburg also expressed his satisfaction, adding that ho always had the kindliest feeling for New Zealand, owing to the kindness shown to his son. The War Office also 'is endeavouring to concentrate New Zealanders in a single hospital, thus removing all possibility of lone-, liness. The convalescent homes at Brighton, Woodcote Park andt Epsom are great successes. Two New Zealanders who lost their limbs were sent to Queon Mary's Hospital at Roeliampton. Provision is mad©, for the entertainment of those New Zoalanders •who are in Great Britain on furlough. The Association provided the troops with toftacco, .shaving tackle and clothing where necessary. A sum of £500 ; had b"een sent to the American Ambassador for the use of New Zealand prisoners Tn Constantinople. Sailors aboard H.M.S*. New Zealand have not been forgotten in connection with the Christmas celebrations. The Association required runds to carry on the work, and Mr Mackenzie paid tribute to tHe invaluable eervioes of Lord; Plunket't and I/ady Islington.
