CONCERT LN LEVIN
Henri Lissack, the juvenile prodigy violinist, is to give a concert at the Century Hall uext Eriday evening at ti.ls. In a notice on nis concert in I'almerston, the Standard said:—"One of the largest audiences ever assembled in the Kosy Theatre gathered la.it night to attendi a concert givOn by tho Henri Lissack Company, the building being iilled to its utmost capacity. All present spent an enjoyable evening, tho excellent music provided proving highly acceptable. The' leading member of the company is Henri Lissack, and although only eleven years oi age, proved by the playing of his violin that lie is a musician of considerable promise. His technique was excellent, and his handling of the dillicuJt numbers selected) lor the evening was tho subject of favourable and much surprised comment by tiie listeners. The pieces played by nenri Lissack during the evening were "Dauses, "Tziganes" (Niichez), "ivol Nidra ' (Max lirusch), "Tarantelie" (Papini), "Vnlse Triskv" "{Souvenir" (Drdla), "Legendo" (Wieniawski) "The Harp That Once" (Barker), "iiast Rose ot .Summer" (Barker), and "Hiiinorosque" (Dvorak). Tho violinist waß assisted in the last number by Maurice, his three-year-old brother, who gives \ promise of being a clever 'cellist. Voc-il items during the evening were "The llosary," "I hear You Colling Me," and; "Less Than tho Dust, pleasingly sung uy Mr H. E. Bennett, and "invictus' 'and "Mother o' Mine," contributed most acceptably by Mr K Short. Miss Vera Graham played the accompaniments with much success.
