Later he obtained a commission in the Northumberland Kegiment, out his -pla.v was not comfortable, and he attempt 0 to get a transfer, and was apparency under the belief that he was to be given a commission in the Gordons. Due to indulgence in drink he had to leave the north of England regiment, and was discovered to be wearing • a uniform partly composed of that or the Gordons by officers whose headquarters are in Dundee.
