Correspondence.

TOur correspondents' opinions are their own; the responsibility of editorial ones makes sufficient ballast for the editor's shoulders.] THE ORPHANAGE BAZAAR. (To tho Editor.) Sir,—l have just read' the naive little letter from "Jim's urother," and would like to add a word of explanation as to tho work and scope of the Presbyterian Orphanage and Social Service Association. This is the seventh year of its work. Forty-seven children are cared for in the home at Berhampore, which is a very tine establishment, well situatedi on a breezy site in view of the sea. Visitors are welcome. Children of alt denominations are received. The association aims the rescue of boys and girls verging towards a criminal career. To this end the devoted secretary Mr T. P. Mills regularly attends the Juvenile Court. He lias been largely successful in saving foolish wayward lads fro.n being sent to industrial schools, by becoming responsible lor their control and good conduct. These lads are boarded out with .suitable families. The growing number and increasing ago of the children in tho home now renders separate buildings for the hoys imperative, and this need will, I trust. make a strong appeal to the generosity of lovers of children. War is upon . s with all its insistent claims, hut old established Christian and Social sei vice work mus{ not stand still. in faith in God. we yo forward! The institution in entirely supported cy public subscription , there is no subsi ly of anyi kind. Gifts of boy's anci girl's clothing (ages to to 14), boots, groceries. vegetables, eggs, meat, jam etc , are always most acceptable. In Mr and iMrs T. P. Mills the children have true friends. They are the right people in the right place. Tho hon treasure'r is Mr W. M. Hannav. 172 The Terraoe Wellington. Gifts, in kind, however should be consigned direct to orphand advised hy post-car-1. Our Christmas Tree Eefe on tho Bth inst, is in aid of the funds Of this orphanage. We ask the kind assistance and patronage of the Levin Public.—l am etc. W. T. MURRAY. Organizer G.C.T. and H.H.E.
