ORPHANAGE AND j SOCIAL ASSOCIATION. I copy of the sixth annual roport on t]/ work of the Presbyterian Orphan;i/ and Social Association (Wellingtjfi) has been left with us. The rojvt shows that the aims of the association are (1) the housing of • orphans ind needy children from town and Country; (2) the rescue ot boys and birls verging towards a criminal career; /(3) the systematic visitation of hospital, gaol, Ohiro Home and Home for Aged Needy; (4) securing employment for men and women under any disability. In a note on the 'activities of the association the convener of the management (Dr Gibb) remarksT "The association began with a capital of C3O and to-day we have a site and buildings .which cost us £GOOO and on which there now remains a debt of only .CIOOO. ,T.W o.rdinnrv income this year has exceeilotV (irevious records. The donations from iruV'idunls and congregations have been generous. The ladies' auxiliary committee has rendered excellent service in raising money as well as in other directions, aikT the Bible classes have also done well for the. Orphanage. From T. w. M'afartliv Board of Trustees the Committee lias received another Avolcomc grant ot £190. But there is still a debt to lie liquidated on the buildings and as soon as that is disposed of wo must take in. hand some of the many development of the work that are crying aloud for our attention."' y
