Levin Swimming Club.
THJi -Sl'OK'lS SJSXT WEDiYJSSDAI. A special general meeting of the Lo\*in Swimming Club -was hotel m the Borough OoLiucil Chambers last evening ror the purpose of considering a program of events lor the opening clay oi the club's season, hxed tor December Ist. Mr H. Denton occupied the chair. A program suggested by tho committee set up at tho previous meeting, consisted ol nine events and included races for boys under 1(3 years of age, raced for adults, diving, obstacle races, applesnatching, delay races, etc. Alter some discussion this was adopted with a low alterations—tho addition ol a ladies' race and a slight change in the conditions of the races. The whole comprises ten events. Messrs JJ. R. Gardener and Mr A. -Dempsoy were appointed judges of the several events. -Mr it. Denton was chosen Tor tho position ol starter. Mr .J. Main tyro was elected timekeeper. The secretary (Mr U. Itodgers) was appointed course steward. All the events -will be post entry and there will be no entrance fee. Tho baths will be open at 2.30 p.m.. and tlie first race will commence at three o'clock sharp. Trophies for all events will be provided. .Mr Denton promised 10s 6d towards these. It was resolved to forward a letter to the manager oi the Hoys' Training farm asking him to allow the boys at the larin to participate in the sports, and also permit Hio 'Soys band to be present Entrance to the baths will be freeze the public. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated! the meeting.
