LEVIN STOCK SALE. There was a good entry of Bto-'e, forward and light beef Cattle at Messrs Abraham and VTiliianis's saleyards yesterday,, clo.se oil 000 head of cattle being yarded, for which the competition was keen and a goodl clearance resulted. Medium fat cows sold up to £9 Gs; rough 3-year-old bullocks sola up to £8 Bs. The entry of sheep was well up to previous yardnigs and good prices ruled. Eat woolly hoggets sold up to 23s 7d; light 2-tooth shorn ta't ewes 20s to '21s; 2-tooth shorn wethers 19s Id;; and woolly hoggets to 24s la. Potatoes are linn at last week's rates but are rather slow on account of new potatoes coming on the market in larger quantities. Pollard is firm at laet week's rate. Bran is a little easier, the business in Chaff is slow, and the price has weakened. Oni.-r are about the same price ar- last week. Wheat has again advauced in value, bill we do not think it permanent; business in this, however, is much more brisk. Eggs ■liavo again advanced in price, and we could d,o with larger consignments. Tho selling price for porkers is very good; we could do with larger consignments of these. Spring cabbage is in 'Fetter demand and supplies are limited. Choice cauliflowers are in short supply, and realising higher prices for' well packed liHes. Large consignments of lettuce have arrived in the market this week, and prices are easier. Very few swediets arc offering, and high rates are ruling. Parsnips are in short supply, and prioes good. Choice table carrots and) turnips are in better demand. Spring onions, leeks, awd celery are in good iiiipply. The market is well 6uppli<xl with rhubarb at lower rates. Nelson green peas are coming into the market iu larger quantity and prices have declined. Strawberries, cherries, and gooseberries arc arriving in lar-ffer parcels, and causing keen competition. We solicit the consignments of those clients" who do not send hides, 6kins, etc., to us. All supplies reaching us are sold at top market rates, and eve.'y care oi our customers' interests is taken.
