. — BARTON .LiltUS. OIRCI'S. "Better that over" was the unani-inuiii-3 verdict of the great crowd that witnessed Barton Bros. circus last night The tent was tilled well, even better that previous occasions, and it speaKs volumes for Barton j_>ros. that their bliow attracts the people so consistently. To many, missing Barton's circus would bi worse than missing supper. The opening leat performed last night outside and free to all, the slide of Mr Victor Dentine from the top ol the tent to the ground, gave people a.i icfea of what was to be 'witnessed inside and they wore not disappointed. The aerial and trapeze work of the Dentines "was something to marvel at, especially the balancing feats, and the gyroscope act. The comedy acrobats tShand and Sliand liellod a niche of their own. and did some -wonderful tumbling, at the same time keeping the audience great amused by their ready wit and drollery. A Ave;c Ctoco and Chico. the human chimpanzees. Their illustration ot the curiosity of tho monkey regarding The gun and •box was very natural, and their performance on the revolving ladder was a fine piece of work, "Alicia," the lady juggler, shower ner complete command of things in this line, and Miss Kittie Montgomery's graceful dancing m horseback -while the animal was cantering round the ring earned loud applausue. The ju-jitsu experts. Gardener and Le Mar gave a masterly . xposition of the various holds and lock*. Roy Barton retains all his old skill in equestrian acts, and Tex McCloud has not lost his cunning with the rifle, knives and lasso. In the last he was * ably seconded by T. .James. It was a fine performance throughout, and the next appearance of Barton's circti6 will he watched for with greater interest than ever.
