Shannon Notes
(By our Resident Representative)
Tim Kennedy Family appeared m "he liillaiulia idall on 3 lend ay night and gave one of their charming 'enter tainments to an enthusiastic audience.
A sad event fiappened on Monday, in the rather sudden death of Mrs I'Voc! Mardon. She was seized with convulsions on Sunday evening. Dr Hislon and Dr Brvson were called in, but they could only assure the sorrowing relatives that the poor woman-hat! only twenty-four hours to live. Their predictions were unfortunately verified, to>' Mrs Mardon died at b p.m. on Monday. Much sympathy is felt for Mr Mardon who has" lost his young wife after such a short time of married life. MRS MARDON'S FUNERAL. Tho funeral of the late Mrs I'Va Mardon took pl-ice on Wednesday afternoon. The cortege left the deceived lady's residence about 3 o'clock and slowly wended its way to the Church, which was crowded to tne doors. The llcv. C. "Palmer conducted the service. Charles Wesley's beautiful hymn ".lesu Lover of My Soul," was sting after tile 39th psalm had been recited. The service in the Church being over the fureral party continued their mourn* ful journey to the cemetery where tho Rev. C. Palmer concluded the buriil service at the graveside. The attendance of mourners was unusually large testifying aTike to tlie respect in which the deceased lady was held and the desire of the resit!enls to express their syimpathy with the young husband 'n his sad bereavement. The wreaths exceeded both in number and beauty those of any funeral that I have seen in Shannon.
