Tlie last few days have been extremely busy ones at \\ alkley's, because of the opening up of the tno new stock of spring and summer goods. Ihe arrival of these goods has transiormed completely the appearance ot the shop in much the same way the arrival of spring transforms tlifr appearance of a flower garden. Tho beautiful colours and designs of the new assortment of prints,'muslins, »'ap ciepes and Tobralco drees materials are things to wonder at, but perhaps tho most striking articles in tne new stock are lauies' fancy handkerchiefs, special purchases ol manufacturers' samples in this line .having been made by Mr Walkfey,. These are'oi linen, muslin and cambric, with many .splendid (.designs in fine embroidered work. Ladies purchasing these handkerchiefs will have something quite out of the ordinary and something that cannot bo . .• purchased elsewhere because only Jieso samples were made. Another ino that should appeal to ladies is a great range ot hosiery, aff English made, in plain and ribbed caslunere and embroidered., and alsoi in Lisle thread, plain lace,, and embroidered. This hosiery is to be sold at the old prices, no advance having been made. Special lines procured by Mr Walkley are boys' suits, and boys' Kitchener suits with which a smart cap is included. These are all of high grade material and well, worth inspection. They are marked at very low prices.
