liarley, 21 to 22 bushels; beans, 2 to 2J bushels; buckwheat, or brauk, li bushels; cabbage (drumhead), to transplant, 1 lb; canary, 3 pkgs; ovrot in drills, 8 to 12 lbs; clover, !•* so 17 lbs; Furze or gorse, For feed, 20 to 24 bs; do. For single-lino Fencing, to bow one milo, 3 to 4 lbs; kohl rabi (turniprooted cabbage), to transplant, 1 lb; do., drilled, 4 lbs, linseed, for flax, 21 bushels; linseed, lor seed, U bushels; lucerne, broadcast, 20 lbs; do., drilled, 15 lbs; mustard, white, 1 pkt; mangold wurtzol, 5 lbs; oats, 3 to 4 bushels; parsnip, 10 lbs; rape or cole, 1 pat; rye, 21 to 3 bushels; rye grass (if drilled, one-fourth lets), 2 to 2i bushels; sainfoin, giant, 5 bushels; tares, winter, 21 bushels; do., spring, 2 to 21 bushels; trifoliumi incarnatuin, 24 lbs; turnip, 2 to 3 lbs; turnip stubble, 4 lbs; wheat, 2i to 24 bushels.
LAYING DOWN A LAWN. When it is desired to form a lawn, the ground should be trenched aa directed for the vegetable garden any time during the autumn. If the plot can be prepared in March, a season n:ay be gained by sowing the grass seed during that month; the surface must be thoroughly pulverised and trodden down firmly. The following is a good mixture, if procurable:— Crested Dog-tail, 21 Ds; Festuca tenuifolia, 41bs; Festuca duruscula, 21bs; Loliurn teuuifolia pereune, 201bs; Whito clover ,21bs; Trifolium minor, 81bs; Poa Nemoralis and Sempervirens 41bs of each. This mixture will suffice for half an acre, and will form a very good lawn, and if kept cut close answers most soils. Special mixtures for laying down lawns may also be nad from any seedsman. Some of jur native poas and other grasses would answer admirably for lawn purposes. U the ground is of a retentive nature, sowing the seeds should bo deferred till August. Commence lo cut as soon as the machine will act. Some orefer the scythe for the hrst time of cutting. Roll previous to mowing; this will save the knives ot the mower.
