A story of the ...ming ol a .squad ot reuruitvs is causing some amusement in recruit ing circles. The officer was calling the names, and prompt replies ca'me from Jones and Smith and Kobin6on. The next name was Montaig -that wat. how tlie officer pronounced it. There was no reply. "Moutaig," replied, the officer with emphasis. "Here, sir," come the half-lrearted reply from tlie rear rank. "'Why didn't you answer at mice?" sauf the man in charge. "My name is Montague," said the recruit. "Jβ it?" replied the 'officer. "Well, you do ae ven days' fatigeiv"
