SHANNON DEFEATS LEVIN
Germany owed her initial (successes in the war to the fact that she caught her opponents unprepared, and. the Shannon hockey team apparently has been (studying the point, what timo the Levin hockey team has been looking ii'ound for quiet place to lie down and take its exit from this world where subscriptions are few and premier cups h a rci to win. flence when the Shannon declaration of war unexpectedly arrived yesterday morning, there was much rushing around, and giving of orders to the different unite to mobilise 011 the Levin park domain in the afternoon. As usual In such cases it was found that the first line had a low gups ,and 'Levin had to call up some of its landsturm. These did their best (one hit a "goal' from half ivav) hut Shannon proved too good and won by three goals to one. Speaking generally 'Levin had slightly the best of the game, but Shannon's last lino of tie-fence was good and stopped Levin from scoring. In the first half Shannon scored one goal against their opponents, the latter failed to score, in the second half. Shannon, playing down hill, scored two goals, and then Levin rallied and made several good, f.ttrxks' but only secured one goal/ Air C. 11. .Tudd was referee.
