Lamb A fair demand continues, but it is chiefly for light weight. Canterbury's two's BJd per lb, heavy 'weight fours BJd; other than Canterbury, Bgd for light weight. 13eef.—Prime New Zealand beef cannot be quoted. A small supply of cow beef is selling at: Hinds 7Jd per lb. fores G:Jd. There its a moderate supply of chilled 'beof. Chilled hinds B]d per lb fores 7id. Putter.—The market is. quiet, but steady. Host quality, for which a good demand continues, is scarce, but thero fs a large supply of second-class quality Tlie report is current here that a quantity of low grade Siberian and French butter has been put.in cold store. Danish, quiet, per cwt, loss to 158s; New Zealand, none offering: Australian, a moderate demand, 138s to 140s; Siberian, a good demand, 128s to 1325; Irish creamery, blow except finest, 1-lOs to 112s; Argentine, unwilted, liOs to 112s. Cheese.—The market is very quiet. Prices are irregular and also are declining all round on account of large supplies coining forward. Buyers are holding back and holders are anxious to soil. Canadian, slow, white and coloured, per cwt 8-ls to 88s ; New Zealand, quiet, coloured 90s to 925, white 91s to 935; English, firm, 98s to 102s; Australian. slow, coloured 80s to 88s. white 88s to 00s; States, dull, while and coloured, 82s to 80s, according to quality and size.
