The Tapanui Courier reports that margarine is being sold in Tapanui. An interesting note from Gallipoli, sent by Private A. E. Davis, formerly of the Boys' Training Farm, Wera-roa, has reached Mr J. O'Donohue, of Leviu It is dated 18th May and runs: ''Just a- line to let you know i am still alive and kicking, although have been through some lively experiences, i'ike has a slight wound and in the hospital. 1 have also been knocked out, one shall be back in the firing line n au*out two or three days time. Sorry tTTey will not let us tell any news in our letters, but you can rest; assured that >we are gradually beating the Turks and Germans, although their muffiods of fighting are barbarous. This is the only noto I am able to post, so try and let Levinites know that we are ali right. How 1 hope we shall puiU through, but there will be many aching hearts in Kew Zealand for our cmnns already lulled out here, but we have got the Beggars now, old chap, and' there won't be many more casualties. It" was in forcing the landing that we lost the men. The New ZeaTanders have clone marvellous work, as also have the Australians. I have Seen in two bayonet charges as yet, and altogether fighting three weeks wrßTout a spell. The navy men are grand chaps; it's a real pleasure to bo near them.
