Shannon Notes

The Shannon lodge ot Druids held a summoned meeting in the lodge room on Thursday evening, A.D. Bro. Fargher presiding. There was a good attendance considering the inclement weather. A quantity ot correspondence was read and dealt with. The lodge voted 10s to assist a crippled brother in Napier. 1 It was unanimously decided on the motion ot Bro. Hillier that in future all members 011 the doctor's list pay the quarterly fee of 9d per member which had hitherto bee l , paid by the management fund. A letter was received from Mr Thompson, of Levin, suggesting that arrangements might be made to rent the hall to Mr Farland to show pictures. The matter was left in the hands ot 1 the secretary and the trustees with full power to act. It 'was decided that the present schedule rates at which the hall is let be dispensed with and a committee was appointed to draw up a new schedule to meet the present competition. Accounts amounting to £3 lG.s were passed for payment and the lodge adjourned. Mr Henri French gave an entertainment in the Gillandia Hall 011 Wednesday evening entitled "The Intoxicated Genius," but owing to insufficient advertising there was not a larg? attendance
