Patriotic Fund.
The Mayor of Levin is in receipt of the following telegram' from the Mayar of Wellington:—
"At the request of the Wellington Patriotic Society the Mayor of Wellington has pleasure in inviting tue mayors and chairmen of all the local bodies and representaives of paitrioti'j societies throughout the districts from Wellington to New. Plymouth on the west and Napier on the east, to meet him in conference at Town Hall, Wei lington, on Friday, 2nd July, at .2.40 p.m. for the purpose ot considering a proposal to federate the various patriotic societies and funds and agree upon a uniform system of relief and in gen era! to devise ways and means of economical and efficient administration o , patriotic funds; also to nominate trustees and an executive controlling tht funds "of the whole district. Sir John Findlay, K.C., and Mr <J. P. Skerrett K.C., will be present to advise the conference on all legal matters. Fuller information following by mail. Pleas* advise all patriotic societies in your district of the contents of the abovw wire—JOHN P. LUKE, Mayor."
