During the progress ot the Red StarDalefield match on Saturday, at Mas-. teitoii, a Dalefield player, J. Bland, fell on his shoulder and dislocated his collar-bone. Included in the Fifth Reinforcements were many of New Zealand's finest 1' ugby players, several of whom have worn the "All-Black" colours. "Hilly" Stead, the well-known "AliIJlack" back, who has not played for several years, turned out last iweek -t Invercargill to assist his club—the Stans. The veteran, is stated to have played brilliantly. The result of the Wellington games <>n Saturday was: Athletic ft, Oriental 0; Pet-one 22, Wellington 0; Trentham C 9, Trentham A 6; Poneke 0 Trentham B 0; University 8, Selwyn 3. The Otago Rugby Union is out with a proposal that a Rugby team from 'J rontham should visit Dunedin and play an Otago team m ait! of the Abounded Soldiers' Fund. The idea "is a good ono"*t\vrites a southern soribe) and if the Prime Minister will only give his consent to allow the soldierfootballer to travel free on tlfe railways to Dunedin, as he did in ths case of the Trentham team's visit to Auckland, there is no reason why a strong team should not .be got together to play Otago.
