—• — Notice is given in the Loudon Gazette that the appiontinents of Messrs Edwin Bechsteiu and Car. Bechsteiu, trading as M. C. Bechsteiu, Pianoforte Manufacturers to the King, tho Quooti, and Queen Alexandra, are cancelled. The Bedlin pianoforte business bearing the name of iSeohsteiu was founded by Eriedriek Wilhelm Oarl Bechs'tein, and liad branches in Paris, London, and St Petersburg. The question of the right of the firm to trade in this country has been rinsed m repeated communications to the authorities practically ever since the outbreak of war. The Piano Manufacturers' Association, representing the English piano markets has also made representations in various quarters, and tho attention of tho ■Royal Warrant Holders Association has, it is understood, been directed to the firm's position. A receiver was appointed by tiie High Court in August last, ami it may bo remembered that lie applied for leave to serve notice of motion lor an injunction against Mr. Henry Biilinghurst, president ot the Piano Manufacturers' Association, to -restrain him from sending circulars to Messrs Bechstein's customers. The Office have, we are informed, written to Mr. Billinghurst stating that the Home SeoreTSrj<&Les not intend to renew Messrs Bech-stem's licence empowering the linn to trao>e.
