Whinnuy, the tnistvo, a policy of assurance for ,tl55,()00 with tlm London Assurance Corporation, it realized £10,150. The policy was effected in February, 11)12, on tlie lite <>i a. man, aged -11 years. The annual premium is C 4,996 9* 2d, payable yearly on February 17, until 1931. if the premium just due remains unpaid the policy wi fl mature as a fully-paid non-participating assurance for e€23,250. In inviting offers the auctioneer .said that the assured person was nn officer serving with the Tcrrilorial Forces, and liable, of course, to toroign service, lint the policy was without restrictions as to residence or .occupation. and, I moreover, it was exempt Mom any linbility to pay an increased premium.— London Times.
v • ; [By our Resident Representative.] A few friends of Mr Caiman mot at the Club Hotel on Thursday evening to Bay good-bye to him on the eve of his departure for Fiji. Mr J. TV. Murray presided, and Mr Selby, on behalf of the ' company, presented Mr Caiman with a case of pipes an a farewell gift. Valedictory .'(speeches were made and Mr Caiman suitably responded and acknowledged the gift. The Methodists cleared £32 from their Fishing Village Fair. The Board of Education have accepted the tender of Mr Uhannings, of Levin for asphalting the grounds of < the Shannon school.
