« LEVIN .STOCK SALE. At thu sale.yun.ls on Friday fat cows bold Horn £7 10s to £\). Store stock (in good supply) was slow of sale and a number of pens were passed in. One pen ol 2o store cows in low condition ' sold at £2 12s (id. The sheep market was about the same as at last sale. The market for fat pigs was good and bacouers sold to £2 Bs. Stores were as usual at .this time of lUe year. ERUPT. The manager (Mr U. Smart) of the i Horowhenua Frutgrowers' Association reports lor the woek ending on Friday. The market has been very good durng the week; the apple market es-" pecially so, no less than 78 cases being disposed of making a total for the season of 1480 cases up to date. This «hows a big advance on last year when the total was 5X30 for the whole season. Prices ruled horn 0s od to 7s (id per case. No pears caine to hand, the season beiug aboiut closed. There is still , a demand for quinces but very few came to hand; a few cases sold at 4s per case. There was a good demand lor onions at Id for small quantities. The potato market is still slack and prices remain at £5 to £5 10s. OTHER PRODUCE. Prices ruling at the local stores for other produce are as follows:—Potatoes £4 10s to £5; onions £5 10s to £6; eggs Is lOd per dozen; dairy butter Is 2d per lb; separator butter Is 3d per lb. LEVIN STOOK SALES Messrs Abraham ■ and Williams Ltd. report:—At Levin on l'rulay we offer- .. Ed a good yarding of cattle mid a sniall•er yarding of eheep than usual.
