♦ —■ STOCK SALES. At, the .saleyardis yesterday there were iioavy entries oi sheep and cattle— •specially (store cattle. Tile market .\iu> easier and buyers were either small «r not very urgent. Fat wethers sold to 22«, and eight fat ewes to UJs Id. Fat bullocks sold at £12, and fat cows £7 to £7 10s. Store cattle were slow of sale. A pen of large store bullocks sold at £7 10s. The pig market was much about the same ■•■a at the previous sale. FRUIT. _ Air l>. Smart, manager of the Horoivlieiiiia Fruitgrowers' Association, reports for the week ending yesterday ( iM-iday): The market during the week ha.s shown a much firmer tone and ilie demand from outeitie showed a marked increase in number. Apples sold freely at from (is to 7s (id per case. About 75 cases were disposed i.f throughout the week. There was a fair demand for pears ami they sold ;it from on to 7s (id per case. The supply of quinces nearly has ceased, and the few case sent in were sold at 3s per case. There was a fair turnover of onions t'uring the week at Id per lb. There uas a ■ fall in the potato market, and the market is now at £5 10s per ton. OTHE'R PROI3CCE. The following prices were ruling yesterday at the local stores: Eggs Is lOtl to is per dozen ; butter (dairy) Is per Hi.
