Sales were effected at the following quotations:—

SHEEP Fat wethers '245, fat rams 17s 6d to 255, 2-tooth wethers lSs, 2tooth to f.f.rn. breeding ewes 14s, 17s 7d, lUs to 20s, 2-tooth" ewes (good) 19s 7d, cull 2-tooth ewes (empty) 12s, good lambs 13s lid, cull lambs 7s 10d, 2tooth wethers 18s, 4-tooth wethers 20s Id; empty stere ewes 8s lid to 10s 6d, empty forward ewes 13s 4d to 14s 4d.

OATTLE.—Fat cows £5 16s to £7 12s titl, etore cows £2 Is to £3 ss, 2year steers £4 15s to £5. 18-month steers £3 10s to £3 15s, 2-year heifers in calf £4 5s to £4 10s, springing heibers £6 to £8.

An entry of 100 pigs met with good enquiry and a clearance was made at

the following quotations: Baconers £2 16s, porkers 18s. 265, 28s 6d, 295, 32s Gd, to 365, stores Bs. 13s, 15,s weanere 3s, 6s, 7e.

DALGETY AND CO.. LTD

Mcsers Dalgety and Company. Limited, report having held their weekly sale at Levin yards on Friday, the 23rd instant, when they,offered to a good attendance of the public heavy entries of both sheep and cattle. Bidding rather lncked animation especially for sheep and prices for lambs and ewes showed a falling of about 6d to 9d per head. Wethers were in good deninnd and late rates were maintained For this class of sheep. The enquiry for steers was good and some satisfactory sales were effected. Weaners and yearling cattle were hard to dispose of, and a number of lines offered failed to find purchasers. The principal enlee were as under.—

SHEEP.—Good woolly hoggets 14s Bd. medium sfiorn hoggets 8s 10d to 9s, inferior hoggets 5s (id to Gβ 3d, heavy weight fat wethers 25s 9d. A line of extra prime fat ewes offered on account of Messrs Gardner and Son made the satisfactory price of 25b. Light fat ewes 19s 10d to 20s; empty forward owes 14s 2d to los Id.

'CATTLE.—Pat cows (a large entry), prime £8 10s. medium £<> 10s to £7 ss, light £5 to £5 15s, fat bullocks £10, forward 3J'-yenr steers £9. full conditioned 3J-year «teers £8 2s. A line of 70 2J-yoar steers made from £6 to £6 6s. M.S. weanors 21s to 25s 6d; 18-month steers £2 TOs to £3 ss; springing heiFers close to calving £8 to £8 10. springing cows ©3 10s to £9.
