i'lie yardinge at saleyards yesterday wero up to the average and the attendance good. Sheep eold at good rates and prices showed no reduction. A line of good fat wethers realised 25s 9d. Cattle were easier. Fat cows sold from £5 16s to £8. A line of 22 store steere wrought £5. Pens of 27, 25, and 20 store cows were passed at £3 2s 6d, £3 and £3 respectively. There . was little alteration in the market for pige. FRUIT MARKET. The manager of the Horowhenua Fruitgrowers' Association depot. Mr D. Smart, reports for the week ended Friday. The market has been quiet during the week. Apples were in fair supply and sold from 5s to 7s per whole case. The supply was made up principally of Jonathans, Sturmere and York pippins. Quinces sold well at 3s to 3s 6d per case. Potatoes eased slightly and sold at the rate of £7 per ,ton. Onions have a firminotendency, and realised £5 lSs per ton T OTHER PROIHJCE. The following prices arc ruling for produce at the local stores—Separator butter Iβ and Iβ Id per lb; eggs 2s per dozen; potatoes &i Iss per ton: onione Bs per cwt.
