Smart's rooms this evening at 7.30. There is important and urgent business to be discussed and a full attendance in requested. The entertainment ol the troopers was continued in the Century Hall last erening. TKe strangeness now has disappeared and everyone enters into the games and pastimes unreservedy. Some good items were given by several of the troopers and local performers, among the latter Master McLeavey. whose comic songs were encored. Amusing competitions were the two ladies' hat-trimming competitions, in which about a dozen of the men from the camp competed. A first-class concert programme will be giren to-night.
The following team has been chosen from the 6th Mounted Regiment, now in camp on the racecourse, to play a Levin-Wanderers ' football team on ! the park domain to-morrow (Saturday) afternoon—Forwards: Tantrum, Parsons, Parker, Warren, Battley, Craw, Oaborne. Backs: James, Maher, Howe, Thompson, Swainson, slexted, Palmer, Davey and Hill. The match will commence at 3 o'eock and a charge will be made at the gates. The proceeds will be given to the Belgian Reief Fund. The concert and dance to be held in i the Town Hall on Wednesday. 21st inst., in aid of the Catholic Olnireh fund, promises to be a huge success. The committee are procuring the very host talent between AVollington and Palmerston North to participate in tbo concert, bo the people of Levin can look forward to a treat. Tbo programme will be published later. Shannon bowlers visiteil Levin on Wednesday and played the local ctub representatives. The players wore entertained at tea by the ladies of tho Club and an enjoyable time Mas spent. Shannon won one game and Levin one, Levin being five points ahead on the aggregate. Arrangements are well in hand for the big patriotic concert on Tuesday next at the Century Hall. The promotors expect to have a good deal of first-rate visiting talent to enhance tin , merit of what is already assured to be a most attractive and convincing programme.
