Mr Peter Dawson

♦ Ju the King's Theatre, on April 22nd, .Mr Peter Dawson and his English company will give a special conceit for one night only. Speaking of Mr Dawsun, the Auckland Sporting and Dramatic News says:—"Mr Dawson is in the position of the proverbial Spaniard who accepts a strong drink. First, the man takes an. encore; then the encore takes the man. ror every one , .song Mr Dawson sang the audience demanded at least three others. This certainly met the case at the Town Hall ! when Mr Dawson made his first appearance in Auckland. Popularised the world over per medium of his gramaphone records, it was only to be expected that he would find an exacting ' audience. Set down for six numbers, so unbounded was the applause that Mr Dawson's song,s extended to six- ( teen, the voraciousness of the audience being only equalled by the good nature of the vocalist. With a v'oice of resonant timbre and telling power, t a distinctive charm of manner, with the romantic instinct enabling him to picturise all his themes. Mr Dawson covered a wide range ot sentiment firing his hearers with the brilliancy of his dramatic power, inspiring ripples of laughter wth lighter ditties, pulling the heartstrings with pathetic little gems."
