The work of the Y.M.C.A. in connection with the war is gaining much praise throughout the Empire, and it is being found that the ideas which prevailed before the war that, the Y.M.C.A. was conducted on narrow lines are wide of the mark. The institution is doing excellent work wherever there is a camp. An instance is given by a New Zealander in a letter to the Egyptian Gazette of 10th February of the help given by the Y.M.C.A. in the camp in Egypt. The letter says: "Before coming to Egypt this institution was only a name to myself and hundreds of my fellow soldiers. but since we have been here, almost our only comfort has been provided by the Y.M.C.A. Facilities are given in all camps for reading and writing and getting refreshments. There are excellent pianos in all the tents and the members o7 the Y.M.C.A. are never tired of seeing fo our comfort in every possible way. Tam sure all New Kealatiders join witli me in tendering my best thanks to this excellent institution and wishing all its members 'kia ora.' "
