Richards, organiser lor tfie Wellington Provincial Union, told a Chronicle representative yesterday, that lie had had great nuccess along the main line. -Vlangaweka branch membership has been raised from 9 to 42, Taihape from 1 to 76, and Rongotea from 8 to 55. Nearly 60 new names have been added to the AVanganui roll. Te Horo now has a membership of 35, and the Levin branch maintains its normal strength, although a large number of former members have gone aivay from the district. Ohakune reports that a man named Roekel. a school teacher at Valle.v-road (near TTaetihi). died from exhaustion while on a mountaineering trip on Uuape.hu. No further details are vet available.
