AN ANTI-DRINK CAMPAIGN

The King's example in banishing alcohol is resulting in a remarkable anti-drink uprising. The majority of shipyard workers at Glasgow is refusing to enter public houses and is crowding the tearooms. The Right Hon. D. Lloyd George and all Cabinet Ministers now in London have intimated their intention to follow the King's example. Lords Brassev. Sydenham, Cowdray and many others announce their intention to act similarly. Earl Grey suggests disinterested management a.pplietl to public houses in areas where munitions of war are manufactured, and public houses might be taken over during the war, the holders of the licenses being compensated by the amount of the average profit for a triennium. GERMAN POSTAL PACKETS SEIZED. Paris, April 2. The Allies' representatives at Toulon seized aboard various ships 2*oo postal packets of German origin. AUSTRIANS DISSATISFIED. Rome, April 2. The Austrian people are tired of privations .and reverses and are agitating for the stoppage of the war. Violent demonstrations have taken place in several citics. In Vienna there were shouts of "Down with the war! Down with the army! Down with the generals!"
