The Appeal Court to-day heard a petition by Frederick Whitcombe, accountant of Christen inch for re-admis-sion as barrister and solicitor at the Supreme Court. The petitioner was struck off the roll in "Western Aiustra-
Ha in 1900, and subsequently in. New Zealand in 1902. The Court made an order for 're-admission 'on condition that petitioner acknowledged by declaration fhat the sum of money which was misappropriated, was still due. and ! that the costs of the New Zealand Law Society in the prior proceedings be paid and also that seven guineas costs '• in the present petition bo paul within three months.' GOVERNMENT WAR CORRESPONDENT. , Wellington. This Day. It is understood tliat tRe Advisory Committee who went through the names of the applicants for the position of Government war correspondent have recommended two from whom Cabinet will make the final selection.
