MILKING SHORTHORNS
A meeting of the Council of the >■ L. Milkiirg Shorthorn Association was held at Palmerston yesterday. The President, .Mr James.Grant, Woodville presided. Also present:— Messrs J. C. A largo number of allitional entries) for the Herd Book were confirmed, having been passed by the inspecting judges, the total entries now accepted being over 350.
It was resolved that a general meetof the Association be held on Thursday June 24, Winter Show week.
The compilation of the Herd Book was decided on and arrangements made to issue same at early as possible.
The members of the Council decided to pay a visit to the Weraroa State Farm early in May, and will hold a injecting at the same time at Werarja.
General satisfaction was expressed at the increased interest being taien by farmers in the milking Shorthorn brood. One member of the Coun;t! reported that ho had realised 55gns for a two-year-old bull at a sale recently. Five new members were elected Mariawatu Times.
