Levin Stock Sales.
Messrs Dalgety and Co. report having held their usual weekly sale at Levin 011 Friday, the sth instant, when i good yarding <>t : both sheep and cattle came forward. Among the sheep were a number of lines of aged and inferior ewes, and bidding for this class of stock was dull. Young ewes were in good demand, as also were good lambs aim wethers. There was a good enquiry for steers, but female cattle were hard o quit. The principal saies effected were as under:— Sheep.—2so good shorn lambs 9s od to 9s 7-cl; 150 medium sofirn lambs 7s, 220 medium shorn lambs 8s 4d ; medium woolly lambs 5s Id; cull lambs 5s to 5s 8d; 2 and 4-tooth ewes 16s Cd to 16s 9d ; 6-tooth ewes 17s txl; 4 and 5-year old ewes (low condition) lis to 12s 6d. A mixed line of 200 2- and 4-toot-h wethers made 18s 3d.
Cattle.—Fat cows £6 (5s to £6 10s ; vealers 28s; cows with 100 per cent calves £6 10s: on II cows and calves £3 5s ; 18-montlis steers £4 4s to £4 10s : weaner steers 28s 6d; weaner heifers 31s; 3-year-old steers £6 ss.
