GISBORNE WOOL SALE.
Gisborne, This Day
The wool sales conducted yesterday afternoon was the best ever held in Gisborae. The ordinary catalogue was submitted and eleven buyers were present, including representatives from Auckland, Napier and Hastings firms. The competition was keen and prices were Id to lid higher than the previous sale. They are also stated to oc 2d higher than the last Napier sale. Top prices realised were: Fleece 13d, lam|bs' 13d, crutchings 9Jd, locks 73d, dead wool 10£ d, pieces 9~d, slipe 12Jd. Skins sold at 10Jd and hides at 9jd. METHODIST CLERGYMAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Christchurch, This Day. ( The case against Wm. George Maslin', a Methodist clergyman, from Foxton, charged with indecent exposure, was proceeded with this morning. Evidence was given by the three girls, and three gardeners testified that Maslin, when in their custody, broke away and Attempted to escape. Accuse? reserved his defence and was committed for trial. Bail was renewed in £400.
