The National Reserve
LEVIN BRANCH TO BE ORGANISED. When the war commenced a large meeting of Levin people, each charged with a lot of enthusiasm, met in the Drill Hall to form a. branch of -lie National Keserve. For a while things went well, but the supply of enthusiasm gradually oozed away and last week about four or five turned up to drill. A scheme is now being prepared to revive the National Reserve throughout the Dominion and last night a meeting in the Drill Hall took preliminary steps of re-forming and re-organising of Mio local branch.
Mr G .A. "Watson, chairman of the County Council was present and a letter from Mr W. H. Field. M.P.. was read by Sergt-Major Uettins detailing what had been done in other places.
All present were formed into a committee to assist, and Mr \Vatson is to write to Mr Field and ascertain when Colonel Porter and the Dominion secretary visits Levin and 1 place the scheme on a"satisfactory basis. When this is known a general public meeting will be called to meet the above officers.
