[ Values of exports show a substantial increase for January last, as compared with corresponding period of 1914. The Government Statistician gives the total as £3,002,091, as compared with £2,869,816 for January. 1914. - Wool is the chief item, six., £1,406,791, and dairy produce follows with a total value of £676,394, and meat nest, with a value of £518,411. Mr J. Robertson, who had a good deal to do with securing for Levin its concessions regarding travelling on the Auckland express from Wellington, called at the Chronicle to-day and elaborated an explanation given in our issue of yesterday. He said it should be made clear that there was no main trunk service whatever for Levin except that leaving Wellington at 9.10 p.m., which will carry pasesngers from Wellington to Levin at the ordinary :>aseenger fares. Any other main trunk line express that may stop at Levin can be boarded only on condition that full are is paid from the last passen-ger-stop made by the train. The object of the 9.10 p.m. train carrying Levin passengers from "Wellington is '•o give this town the privilege promised it, of having a late train from Wellington, out it does not carry the privilege of allowing passengers to travel north from LeVin on tickets issued there; they must book ae from Wellington.
