RUSSIANS AGAIN ADVANCING
Petrograd, March 3.
Oilicial.—Our offensive on the Nie-wuii-Vistula front continues. Wβ made a successful advance south-west of Grodno; tho Germans resisting stubbornly. A furious all-day battle in the Carpathians near Ondawsan culminated in hand-to-hand fighting. There were enormous Austrian losses and many detachments were annihilated, and the slopes of the mountains and ravines strewn with Austrian dead. (Received This Day 10.15 a.m.) YACHT AND SUBMARINE. Amsterdam, March 3. A report is being circulated that a private yacht fired on the German submarine U2l in St. George's Channel. The statement is possibly promulgated by Germany's desire to justify her submarines sinking everything.
