.Ueat—There is a good demand for all descriptions and prices arc advancing, .vlutton: The market is very firm. Canterbury is not quoted as there is no supply on hand. .North Island is quoted at 5 11-l(xl per lb; ewes sjd.' Lamb —There is a good demand for everything offering. Canterbury is lot quoted. Other than CanterDury pei lb "id. Beef—-The market is vo.\ iirr. owing to short supply of c-'iillecl New Zealand hindquarters, per 11 OH; fores 6d. Chilled, hinds 7iJ; loa s 6fd.

Buter.—The market is quiet and up the decline. Prices are irregular Danish, per cwt, 138s to 140s; \'ew Zealand 134s to 1365; unsalted 136s to 140s; Australian 132s to 131s; Argentine 132s to 1345.

Cheese. The market was firm until about the midde of the week, but closed rather quiet. Canadian, quiet, white and coloured per ewi, 88s to 90s; New Zealand, quiet, white and coloured 87s to 89s; English cheddar, market firm, lowing to supply running short (present quotations are 94s to 965); Australian, white and coloured, 85s to 88s. The Tonga riro has arrived, but has not yet commenced discharging dairy produce on account of the congested state of the dcok" sheds.

Hemp.—The market is firm and prices continue to advance. Further advances may take placo if the rate of freight is raised as anticipated. Good fair on spot is quoted at £29 per ton; fair £27 lO.s; fair current Manila £32. For forward shipment: Good fair £-8 10s. fair £27 • fair current Manila .£32 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 20,000 hales.

Wheat.—The market is quieter and buyers are more r&served. Canadian. per quarter, 635; American 635, any position; Argentine 625. These are the prices offering for the January to March shipments.
