Mr Hughes suggested, as an alternative, that the NW South Wales Government pay for the wheat tho pries ruling in Victoria on the day of seizure. Mr Cann replied that the Government was prepared to do this if it qoii Id not deliver the wheat as proposed. Mr Hughes says that Mr Caim's proposal is unsatisfactory. The owners of the wheat are entitled to the price at which they could have sold it when it was seized. Until he gets a rep'y to his last telegram the Kaiapoi cannot depart for New Zealand.
