9 Good housewives will bo bewildered \\ii.h the sale bills issued by drapers this i month. To-day Air W. M. Clark, of Levin, iires u schedule of prices, at the ladies especially, like arrows from an aeroplane, in the hope at penetrating the dullest oi' lniiuls. .Ladies study these price lists; they talk over the "surprising reductions' , with each. i other; they tell their hubsands about the beautiful articles which are being sold below cost; land lie gets the promise of a new neck-tie or a pair of socks. It is the "herring drawn across ;. the scent"; hubby "forks out," and "mi-lady" goes shopping. When the goods are sent home she displays her "cheap purchases" and tells hubby that they are real bargains. "When he '- tasks for his socks and necktie she declares that she quite forgot him. .No doubt quite true. We hope our drapers will reap a harvest; that summer weather will . enable the ladies to sport in fairy costume, that the young folk will share in . the attractions, and that the bread- , winner will show by his apparel that he . is not forgotton when wives go shopping.
