♦ IT" GENERAL MEETING. A well-attended general mooting: of the iloiowheniia A. ami I'. Society was held in the Forester's Hall oil Saturday afternoon, the president of the Society, Mr J. Davies, occupying the chair. After some discussion it was decided to ask the manager of the Boys' Training Farm to allow the boys' band to attend the show and play selections on the lawn tin ring the day. Mr J. Howell was appointed to attend to the repair and erection of the > pens on the showgrounds. It was decided that the secretary write to Mr W. H. Field, M.P., asking him to use his influence to secure the presence of a Minister of the Orown for the purpose of opening the show. The question of issuing complimentary ticket# wias left in the hands of the president and the secretary. The tradesmen's exhibits are to be judged immediately in ifront of the grandstand. The chairmen of the various schedule committees were appointed to assist the secretary 111 correcting the proofs in their particular class for the cata- . logue. Amateur judges of any age will be allowed to compete in tho ama ten r judging competitions. The following chief stewards were elected : —Horses: Messrs W. Simpson, N. Kirkcaldie, G. Tally, J. Gillies, F. O. Smith, G. Hanlon, J. McLeavey, T. Bevan. Cattle: Messrs J. Johnsou, S .A. Broad belt. J. Prouse, F. Betters, H. A. Ward, O. C. Webb, R. C. Saxon. Sheep: Messrs H. J. Richards, H. 11. Weggery, H. Murray, R. - Simpson, E. Law, F. Davies, A. Mcp Le'avey, H. Windeley, D. Gardner, E. Law (junior). Pigs.—Messrs J. How--4 ell. J. Davies (Oban), N. Horrobin,J. i Broughton (with power to add to their > number). Grounds and gates: Messrs y F. Roe, T. M. Kingdon, J. L. C. Merf ton (with power to employ any neces- * sary labour). Reception committee: I Messrs J. H. Murray, N. Kirkcaldie, I G • H - Kingdon, W. Simpson, Major Burlinson. Visitors' committee: Messrs J. Davies and J. Kebbell. ■It was left to Mr F. Rotter and Mr J. Johnson to select the paddock at the Expeiiinenta] Farm for tho cows entered for the butter-fat competitoin. Other routine business was transacted and the meeting ajourned.
