Inspection of Senior Cadets.

' By Colonel E. W. C. Chaytor, T.D. p.s.c., Officer Commanding Wellington Military District. On Wednesday evening Colonel Chaytor, Officer Uommanding District, accompanied by Captain Morrison, Area Group Officer, arrived at Levin io inspect the 50th (Win) and 54th (Training Farm) Tlu-y. were met iac r;ti.»a Y action by Major nson, and proceeded to the 1 \lrii' shed. The two companies of cadets were formed up in company column, with the three Training Farm bands (brass, bagpipe and bugle) on the left. Captain Morrison commanded the parade,' and the Colonel was received with the general salute, sounded by ten buglers from the Training Farm. The colonel then inspected both companies, and the bands, and expressed . himself pleased with their appearance. The band played a slow march during the inspection. Lieutenant O'Donohue was in charge of the Training Farm Company, and Lieutenant Hilson of the Levin Company. The latter officer put his _ company through physical exercises, and subsequently Lieut. O'Donohue put his company through manual exercises. The inspecting officer called the sergeants out from each company to put the company through the same exercises. The inspecting officer then addressed both companies, and gave them some encouraging remarks, and pointed out the necessity for doing thoroughly whatever they had to do. The bands and the two companies presented a very fine appearance in the drill shed, and both corps show promise of being able to give a good account of themselves at the forthcoming parade at Palm erst on North on Monday,. 18th inst., when some twelve hundred cadets will be brigaded under Captain Morrison, Area Group Officer, who will have for his brigade-major, Captain Guy Powles. Should the weather prove fine this will be a day long to be remembered by the sen. ior cadets who will take part in it. Mrs Godley's cup and the medal for shooting will be presented to the recipients bv General Sir lan Hamilton, and it is hoped that many of the Levin people will go to Palmerston for the occasion.
