ro LEVIN'S i\EAV MINISTER

Uji Tuesday evening the congregation of Ihe Methodist Church assembled in the Century Hall to give a reception to the Hex. XV. H. I']. Abbey and Mrs Abbey. Mr Abbey is taking charge of tho Levin circuit.

The proceedings opened with a hymn, and the Rev. xV. Crawford, of Shannon, Jed in prayer. The I'ev. Mi* Cottom, of Otaki, was chairman, and in a few remarks suitable to the occasion introduced the guests of the evening.

Mr James Prouse welcomed the Rev. Mr Abbey and Mrs Abbey on behalf of the circuit officials anil local preachers. Mr George Kirk spoke for 'IV Horo, Mr ¥. Penn doin" , the same for Otaki. . Mr XV. (t. Adk'n spoke for tbe local Xo-liceiise League, and Mr 11. Askew for Manakau. Mr P. ~\V. (loblsmiih for the Ladies' Guild, Mr T. G. Vincpni for the Young People and Y.M.C.A., uinl the Rev. Mr llandersoii for sister churilies, and tho Rev. A. Crawford for adjoining circuits.

On the motion of Mr J. \V. (jibson the assembly carried a hearty vote of thanks to the Rev. Mr Cot torn, of Otaki, for taking charge of (lie Levin circuit since iln , death of the Rev. Mr Tinsley and for his services during that time.

During the evening a pianoforte solo was given bv Master Parsons, and songs were sung by Mi'sL. Atkins and Miss Jlohinsnn, of Manakau. A <Tuet was sung by the Misses Goldsmith and "Walker, and Mr 1). P. Porteous gave a song. The accompanists were Mrs J. 11. Andrew (Manakau), Mrs Bradley, and Mr Hod son, of the Boys' Training Farm stalV. Supper was provided b~y members of the Ladies' Guild, and a collection was taken up to defray removal expenses. Apologies f< u> non-at tendance were received from Mr T?. ProußO and Ensign Potter, of the Salvation A rin v.
