Horowhenua Hockey Association

(Continued from page 2.) Regarding the question of the Horowhenua ladies' clubs affiliating with the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Association, the secretary said that he had written to the New Zealand Hockey xlssociation, and that body had communicated with the Ladies' "Association oil the matter. A reply had now been received stating that the Horowhenua Ladies' Association had been affiliated in 1910, but had not paid the fees, and these, amounting to £2 2s, would have to be paid before the question of again affiliating could be considered. In addition to this, there was the ordinary affiliation fee of £1 Is to be paid—3s in all. Last year the Horowhenua Association intended to have the ladies affiliated with the New Zealand Ladies' Association, but when the correspondence on the subject was completed it was too late in tho season to do any good then. No doubt the Horowhenua !Association would help the ladies out of their difficulty Mr Karauti said that as the ladieswere connected with the association and had assisted it the Association should pay their fees. The ladies had not played a cup match for three or lour years. Mr Broughton had no doubt but that the Association would pay the fees. # If The ladies assisted the Association the fees would certainly h© paid.

The above discussion arose out of a question as to the use of appointing selectors for a ladies' representative team.

This was seconded by Mr Bovis, aiul at Mr Claridge's suggestion the ladies' clubs were added to the scheme.—Carried.
